ABOUT KRISTIAN LYON

I was born and raised in Langley, where I played for Langley Minor Hockey from the age of 5 until I was 16. During my final two seasons with LMHA, I played on the Midget A1 team and was affiliated with both the Richmond Sockeyes and the Aldergrove Kodiaks of the PIJHL.

After that, I joined the Langley Trappers of the PIJHL for two seasons. In my first year, we were a typical expansion team, but by my second year, we were competitive and challenging for the league championship.

In my 19-year-old season, I moved up to the Langley Rivermen of the BCHL. However, at the trade deadline, I was traded to the Battlefords North Stars of the SJHL, where I became the team’s starting goaltender. The North Stars finished first overall in the league and were preparing to defend their championship when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, abruptly ending my Junior career.

In the spring of 2021, I was recruited by Red Deer Polytechnic on a scholarship. Over the course of my four seasons there, I earned my Diploma in Business while also becoming a three-time league champion on the ice with a playoff MVP in 2025.
